Attention University Preparatory Academy students, it is time again to elect your ASB President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. Please note: As a means to continually improve and progress as an institution, many of the guidelines and requirements for ASB application have changed for the 2010-2011 school year. With these new ideas in place, we hope to make UPA the best place possible for each individual student. Now it’s up to you to step up and vote for your candidate of choice!!!

Requirements

 

ASB President:

  • Have a minimum of a 3.5
  • Must either be in 11th or 12th grade
  • Must have attended UPA for at least 2 years
  • Required to have 150 signatures of people believe you fulfill the position
  • Two staff members must sign approving your candidacy (one of them should be your advisory teacher)
  • Deliver a speech explaining why you suit the position in front of the school
  • Receive majority consent more than simply half

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Look for the well being of the WHOLE school population
  • Represent University Preparatory Academy with pride
  • Must attend every ASB meeting on time
  • Attend PTSO meetings to be knowledgeable on what UPA parents are planning for the school
  • Check in with Mr. Fowler every week on what you could do to contribute with around the school
  • Be an exemplary icon for everyone

ASB Vice President:

  • Have a minimum of a 3.0
  •  Must either be in 10th 11th or 12th grade
  •  Must have attended UPA for at least 1 year
  •  Required to have 100 signatures of people believe you fulfill the position
  •  Two staff members must sign approving your candidacy (one of them should be your advisory teacher)
  •  Deliver a speech explaining why you suit the position in front of the school
  •  Receive majority consent more than simply half

Expectations:        

  • Look for the well being of the WHOLE school population
  • Represent University Preparatory Academy with pride
  • Must attend every ASB meeting on time
  • Contact ASB president on what occurs at PTSO meetings and what actions are going to taken
  • Contact ASB president weekly on what they are going to be doing for the school
  • Be an exemplary icon for everyone

ASB Secretary/Treasurer:

  • Have a minimum of a 3.0
  • Must be in high school
  • Required to have 50 signatures of people believe you fulfill the position
  • Two staff members must sign approving your candidacy (one of them should be your advisory teacher)
  • Deliver a speech explaining why you suit the position in front of the school
  • Receive majority consent more than simply half

EXPECTATIONS:        

  • Look for the well being of the WHOLE school population
  • Represent University Preparatory Academy with pride
  • Must attend every ASB meeting on time and take notes
  • Contact ASB president in case of any activities that may need help on planning
  • Plan fundraisers and participate in them
  • Inform the school on what is occurring around school
  • Inform ASB President and ASB Vice President of any actions that may be needed to be taken
  • Be an exemplary icon for everyone
