AP Exam Information 2026-2027

Please note that due to space constraints, UPA will only be accepting registration from UPA students.

The College Board's Advanced Placement Program® (AP) enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies while still in high school. The program consists of college-level courses developed by the AP Program that high schools can choose to offer, and corresponding exams that are administered once a year.  UPA has made AP a cornerstone of our program, as it prepares and rewards students for the work on college-level curriculum.

Please read all the following sections carefully. This information has been assembled for your benefit and posted in multiple places. While UPA commits to offering a college-level, high-quality AP Exam experience, it is the responsibility of the students and families to adhere to the information below.

If a student misses their regularly scheduled AP exam for a reason other than illness or participation in an approved school-sponsored athletic or academic event, they will not automatically be eligible to test during the College Board Late Testing window.

Please refer to the Late Testing section for additional information about eligibility, deadlines, and required documentation.

Once the plastic is torn off the testing materials or Room Code is provided to the students, you will not be allowed to take the exam. This is AP College Board policy, and there is NO flexibility. If you are a student who is late to school often, please take this week to strategize how you will be not only on time but EARLY for your exam.  Late exams are not currently planned for this school year.

  2. No food or drinks are allowed near the exams in the exam room. Please eat something before the test.

  3. You will not be allowed to go into your backpack while the test is in session. Do not leave things in your backpack expecting to be able to get them.

Late Testing

Occasionally, circumstances make it necessary for students to take an AP Exam during College Board’s pre-determined late testing window.

Students must receive prior approval from the AP testing Coordinator to be placed on the late testing roster. This allows the school to ensure the students will have access to the exam on the alternative testing date.

Examples of approved reasons for late testing include:

  • Participation in a school sponsored event or academic competition

  • A conflict with another AP Exam scheduled at the same time (such as conflicts caused by approved accommodations or exam scheduling)

  • A serious illness.

Students requesting late testing due to illness must provide documentation from a medical provider before approval.

Students will not be approved for Late Testing for family trips/vacations, extracurricular events that are not sponsored by UPA, testing at a different site, or tardiness/oversleeping.
